AFTPAI aims to: 
 

Increase the level of food processing in India. 

Protect and promote the interests of the Indian food processing industry and allied sectors through  representation with the Central & State Governments, regulators, legislators, opinion formers and industry stakeholders.

Inform members of all relevant legislations, codes of practice, regulatory matters and other issues affecting the food processing industry & allied sectors.

Provide a positive industry voice to media, governments and opinion formers.

Safeguard the industry's reputation in the public arena, by meeting criticisms head on and presenting an accurate and balanced view.

Circulate advance information and advice on proposed legislation and provide the opportunity for AFTPAI Members to influence the final texts. 

Organise regular members' working groups to address a range of issues of direct relevance to the     industry.

Provide online promotion of the food processing industry and members' interest.
Hold regular business conventions, conferences, seminars and high caliber business / technical events.
